The guns go bang but you could still hear the soldiers talking to each other.
The bombs go boom.
The wives are worrying about their husbands, wondering if they will come back safely.
The bombs go boom.
The mailman giving post to the wives and children walking, while the wives are crying in dismay because their loved ones have been killed in the war.
The bombs go boom.
Many people died in World War 1 and today is a very special day because at eleven o'clock people across the world will stand in silence for two minutes to remember the people that died in World Wars.
The bombs go boom.

ReplyDeleteThank you Naomi xxxx
DeleteHello Maddi. You have thought hard about this week's challenge and worked well on your poem. I like the way you repeat the line "The bombs go boom". A lot of adult poets use the same trick in their writing. Your poem is full of realistic detail, too. Well done, Maddi.
